Our high-quality Matcha Grade 7A is sourced from Zhejiang, China, and is made from the first harvest of young green tea leaves, which are the finest because the tea plants have retained the nutrients accumulated over winter. The harvesting of tea leaves occurs during the springtime and is done only once per year for the highest grade of matcha.
 
Before harvesting, the tea plants are deprived of sunlight and grown under shade for 20-30 days. This is to enhance the chlorophyll content, giving matcha its vibrant green colour.
 
Our high-quality Matcha Grade 7A has a vegetal taste, smooth umami, mild bitterness, light natural sweetness, and a more obvious seaweed and earthy aroma.
 
The green colour of our Matcha is more vibrant and brighter, indicating high quality. This is one key quality indicator. Low-grade Matcha has a faded green colour, and the green colour is not that vibrant.
