The V6 Impact Tamper Mini is a shock-pressure tamper that does not use a traditional constant-pressure spring. There is a three-stage spring system – top, middle and bottom that ensures smooth pressing feedback and ergonomic force reduction. After tamping down, the corrected spring is released, and after releasing, it provides a strong impact force, which will tamp the coffee powder into a puck. The traditional constant-pressure tamper uses a calibrated constant-force pressure spring to achieve 30 pounds of pressure.
 
It comes with a 15 lb and 30 lb trigger or top spring. This spring is not a constant-pressure spring that acts on the coffee grounds. Rather, it is a trigger spring at the top of the tamper. By pressing this trigger spring, the tamper base will impact the ground coffee with a very high force after the excitation spring has returned.
 
The base is of ripple design – a so-called 'pre-brewing' effect during the coffee extraction process.
